Boycott The MDA Labor Day Telethon! below is what I was inspired to do, before the event became 'American Idol' 2011
It's really wonderful for kids... For I have seen how the MDA works, as per providing - e.g. a van which was equipped with a power lift for wheel chairs - actually. This was way back in the early seventies,.. two teenage boys with 'MD' - whom never made it to adulthood!!!
So please consider donating at www.mda.org and specify what area you wish to have your donation applied to. Personally, I elected to choose - Summer Camp - otherwise as oppose to research or default general purpose applications.. See sample on left.
My 'pet peeve' is always entertainment. In the context of disadvantage children - e.g. Jerry's Kids - it is all about having fun!.. Hence, and again,.. the choice of Summer Camp for these kids.. Their lives are relatively short, and nothing is taken for granted in life - for them!.. Any charities that benefit children - e.g. St. Judes - is the way to go..
Moreover,.. anyone that matches my donation of - $50. - to - MDA - and expressly designated for - Summer Camp - like I did, you will receive an autographed photo of me and addressed to you personally... Plus, you get to hear me via speaker-phone sing: 'Turn Me Loose' (originally by Fabian), and five other standards I usually sing!..
But of course, you will have to produce an 'image file' (JPEG / GIF / BMP) of the printable screen,.. e.g. the window that confirms your donation via credit card.. Believe me,.. you'll be getting your money's worth, and again - get to hear me do some other 'hits of mine' that I usually otherwise sing for a small fee - included as part of your donation..

Gone is that decrepit Ed McMahon - dead - and Tony Orlando now looks like; "someone ran an airhose up his ass,.. and forgot to pull it out.." this time around! Of course,.. it wouldn't have been Labor Day, were it not for Maureen McGovern doing - Morning After - her hit song, which made her singing career back in the 1970 era! Missing was Peter Noonan - Herman's Hermits - this year! If you missed it too?? Call me! I will sing - HUSH - by proxy, and of course,.. for a small donation.

Damn skippy! I have traditionally watched 'Jerry
Lewis' and his band of stars, and future stars - 35 years and counting! Of
course, I get in the usual 'summer stuff' e.g. lifeguard at pool (i.e. see photo at left 2007) during Labor Day too! Anyway, you just never know 'who' may
appear during this annual event really...
Why only yesterday, I was treated - so to speak! - to seeing Gary Lewis (i.e. formerly of Gary Lewis & The Playboys circa mid 1960 era) and the "#1 son" of this silly MDA figurehead actually.
"Wow, love that 'wild shirt' too! Gee,.. I wonder just how many fuck'n 'gay Hawaiians' he had to go and chase down for that bitch'n thingie of a blouse??"
Yeah,.. they were corny as rock musicians go, but it is kinda nostalgic seeing them now, albeit I never really cared for products of nepotism... There were other e.g. 'no talent' pop groups, featuring kids of famous television and movie stars during the early to mid 1960 era also - e.g. Dino, Desi & Billy (Desi Arnez & Lucille Ball's son along with Dean Martin's son - hence 'Dino' aka Dean Martin Jr. too! Who cares about the Oriental member,.. probably did 'Kung Fu' movies after the brief rock foray!.. Dean Martin's son 'Dino' went into the Air Force later, and died testing a fighter jet or something?..

Yeah,.. David Cassidy - e.g. son of Jack Cassidy but not Shirley Jones - his TV mom and mother to Shaun Cassidy - David's no-talent half brother!.. I always like 'him' e.g. David Cassidy really,.. he was a pretty good guitarist too.. If you listen closely to the song e.g. 'I Woke Up In Love This Morning' actually,.. you'll hear his great guitar work. He is truly talented and, a decent musician too!

Gary Lewis, and that 'douchey shirt' (i.e. I called it a fuck'n blouse..) he was wearing,.. and how one of his band-mates (e.g. see photo above right and to the right of me pictured as lifeguard..) was kinda laughing and stuff.. Seeeeee! I am not the only person that thought the shirt was 'jerked-off' really.. Personally,.. if I were that guy (i.e. guitarist) on stage with someone (e.g. Gary Lewis) wearing a fuck'n woman's blouse like that?? I would look the other way really.. I mean; "I would not be able to contain myself (e.g. laughing hysterically etc.) really,.. I would certainly fuck-up, and be unable to continue to play!!!"
Matty Midura - can you get back to the fuck'n telethon - pleeezzzzz??? So what's the big deal about that? Well, it's kind of a 'message'
to us as 'baby boomers' perhaps! You see,.. Jerry Lewis was not much of a
'family man' as I have heard - e.g. 1960's left his wife and children (i.e. Gary
and other sibling) for greener pastures, as most performers do when they become
big time stars. Later, I believe when he 'Jerry Lewis' was damn near 70 years
old - became a father again - with his younger wife! Conversely, he'd be better
served; "being a great-grandfather to the children of his children's
children!!!"
Where am I heading with that? Be patient,.. I was building a
profile previously - getting to the point now!.. Okay, with the previous and
above said, Ole Jerry - the 'Nutty Professor' himself - is bridging the gap -
between his first family, he left behind,.. before it's too late! By having his
"number 1 son" (i.e. as Jerry intro-ed last evening) on the telethon, he openly
acknowledged his son 'Gary Lewis' for public consumption, and made peace within
himself by doing so! Very inspirational, if I may say so. Wouldn't you think??
Yes inspirational, baby! I was so moved, that I wanted to seek out
some of my not so personally beloved relatives - e.g. Aunt Mary - and give her
some love, so to speak! Yeah, if perhaps I decided to 'get high' over-medicating
myself with Vicodin (used for sports & accident related injuries) while
caught-up in a euphoric moment - maybe... Otherwise, not a chance! Jerry Lewis'
guilt is his alone, not mine really - I don't share those kind of remorseful
moments,.. not in that context actually.
Telethon otherwise. As usual, the annual appearance of Norm
Crosby, and his brand of comedy, was a riot. It is also a blast - if you like
symbolic bullshit - coming from corporate sponsors (e.g. Citgo, 7Eleven etc.)
and watching Jerry,.. all but roll his eyes, as these financial prostitutes hand
over millions of dollars in donations - spread out over the day in increments!
And there's of course Maureen McGovern, the not so great pop singer from the
late 1960 era - singing cover versions annually during this show.
Surprises? Yeah, I noticed things. Jerry Lewis is no longer dyeing
his hair, and using the 'greasy kid stuff' really. Moreover; "he is not bloated
- last couple of years, he looked like someone ran a air hose up his ass, and
forgot to pull it out..."
Memories of past Telethons? Well, I tell this 'one' often, about Ed McMahon - annual co-host, and former 'side kick' for Johnny Carson as
follows: I believe it was around 1991 or earlier perhaps - Lisa Gibbons & Ed
McMahon - the closing kiss, after the MDA Telethon surpassed donation goal of
$57 million or something. They usually do 'go over' previous year's total actually - there's really no nail biting, or suspense to it. I am relatively convinced; "some of the incoming amounts are purposefully deferred,.. to created an atmosphere of intrigue!.." The only ones out of the loop - are us. Personally, I think the previous, and as implied by this author - me - is a perk, designed exclusively for Ed McMahon! Why? I am certainly sure, McMahon uses the moment (i.e. going over the top) to take advantage of women (e.g. Leeza Gibbons), with the hope of getting laid later perhaps!
So tell us more - about the kiss!.. Are you sure?? Okay, I did not
want to be a 'kiss & tell' here, so to speak - no pun intended. However, if
you really must know; "that old fart - Ed McMahon - was trying to jam his tongue
down a 'younger lusty' Leeza Gibbons' throat, thus taking advantage of the
euphoric Gibbons, due to the amazing total reached at the end of the event..."
Needless to say,.. she - Leeza Gibbons - had a repulsed look on her face. The
pair i.e. McMahon & Gibbons, never shared the same floor together again!!!

Don't get on the same stage with Ed McMahon - or any horny old geezer - without
wearing a condom covering your face!!! For the record, if anyone does a 'Google
Images' for Sleeza Gibbons? I don't think you will find 'sultry shots' of her as
per how she looked a decade or so ago - she now looks like a Debra Norville -
just another blonde! Personally, I am into "dark hair & brown eyes' types -
gothic perhaps? - or a younger Mimi Rogers clone.. Sure! I like 'green eyes' too
- especially if you're an Italian or Jew actually. No, that was not a 'typing error' previously - Sleeza in lieu of Leeza. You're really - asking for fuck'n trouble, spelling your name other than 'Lisa' standard,.. dummy!!!
Conclusion. Albeit everything mentioned previously tends to be
entertainment fodder, and memorable for years to come and go - Labor Day, marks
the unofficial end of summer. At least, that is what we have been indoctrinated
to believe! With that said, and in mind,.. I usually feel a bit sad. However,
the MDA Telethon acts as a 'pain reliever' of sorts, to otherwise cope with the
obvious - again; "the end of summer as we knew it..." I hope to experience all
that I enjoyed, as with the previous years gone by - next year - and with all
things being equal,... see Jerry Lewis hosting another telethon!!!
